What the October 2026 notes added
Update notes for this version describe level 75 deep-sea fishing offshore near the mansions, higher-tier fish, and a new item-storage utility. That is the late fishing goal to work toward. It is not a paycheck at level 1.
A public event log also titles a featured window “FISHING UPDATE 2”, from 10 Oct 2026, 11:00 AM PT, through 14 Oct 2026, 9:00 AM PT. The log marked that window live when it was read. Confirm in game whether the featured window is still up. The level 75 offshore spot is described as a system change, so do not assume the water closes the moment the featured timer ends, and do not assume it stays open either.
How to start without using stale prices
- Buy a cheap rod and cheap bait at Jack's Hardware if that shop still sells them.
- Fish a pond, lake, or dock the game lets you use at your current fishing level.
- Store fish and the rod before you cross a busy block. Death still drops inventory unless the new storage utility says otherwise on your screen.
- Stay on the Fishing skill if this is the path you chose. It does not level Janitor or Cook.
- Move offshore near the mansions when the game shows you meet the level 75 requirement.
Numbers this guide will not copy
A May 2026 money video said fishing is a time grind until the 70s, then named very high sale prices for sailfish and marlin. An August 2025 video put an ultimate rod at fishing level 60 for a stated price and ultimate bait at level 45, and it preferred the dock behind the car dealership. Those unlocks and prices predate the level 75 offshore notes. They are not the current table.
Use the session calculator only with a sale you just received. A zero in that form means you have not typed a number yet.
Older dock advice can still help you find a legal early spot. If the prompt rejects the cast, you are in the wrong water for your level.
